The Cape St. George Light stands at the center of St. George Island in Lighthouse Park. It is the fourth re-construction of the historic lighthouse that was originally built on Little St. George Island in 1833. After it’s collapse in 2005, volunteers salvaged more than 22,000 original bricks from the rubble, rebuilt Cape St. George Light, and opened the lighthouse to the public in 2008. For over 15 years, the lighthouse has shone brightly at the heart of the island, welcoming residents of Franklin County and visitors alike. Standing next to the lighthouse is a replica of the keeper’s house, featuring a museum and gift shop. Please check our website and social media for information about climbing and operating hours.
